Its coming, as Kitten would say 'I can feel it'.

Spoke to my proposed supervisor yesterday and his take was something like 'man why are you so impatient?'. Oh the luxury of a professors salary for the past 20 years must have dulled his appreciation the desperation of the junior academic.

Hi!
Just to let you know I've followed in depth this forum since one week. I have not yet posted any message but I have been happy to see other people becoming mad with these never ending wait! In any case it has been fun to read you and I wish you all the best for the results! We've never been as close as getting them :)
Cheers
Etienne

Guys,
How many of you have a position, even a temporary or part-time one, in academia, and is MSCA IF your only chance to continue your research?

I’m getting in the cinema to watch “How to train your dragon 3”. I’ll be out just in time to panic again. I trust the low number applicants (832, 833) to report their emails or lack thereof. Talk later

I have a permanent job, which is mostly teaching. It leaves almost no time for research. So, I’m in a loop of lots of teaching > little time for research > less chances for a research fellowship. This maca-if may be my last chance to hold onto research. I’m in social sciences.

I am an Associate professor at a good European uni on tenure track. MC IF is actually a bit of a step down for me because I would have to give up my tenured position and re-enter the job market after the fellowship. But yes, I want to conduct this research project this much :).

Thank you,
At least you have some position in academia.
Good luck with your application!

me. If I want I could find a way to stay in academia, but I've no interests anymore. I already resigned from my previous position and now I just wait to see if I get this fellowship before officially leaving academia.
It is the first time I apply for the MC so I don't have much hope...

Seems we are in a similar position and this is our last chance :)
Good Luck!
