ERC Starting grant 2025
ERC Starting grant 2025
Hi everyone,
I am reapplying after my unsuccessful first try this year. I got to the interview stage but unfortunately they did not find my methods convincing enough. I already polished the application and I think it significantly improved. Is there anyone who is in the same shoes?

Hi, same here. I got a B evaluation and my main comment was that risks were found to important and were not well mitigated in my proposal. I am still thinking of reapplying and wondering if I really have chances to make it to the A funded list.

Definitely worth a try, you made it to the second phase which is really hard!!Chemistry-89 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 2:44 pmHi, same here. Thanks. I have heard from a senior researcher who had a consolidator and made it to the interview for advanced that they do not want to fund high risk projects anymore as there was a lot of funded project who did not produce enough results.
Re: ERC Starting grant 2025
Good to know! I actually have a moderate risk project I think. I hope we both get a second chance!Chemistry-89 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:59 amThanks. Hi same here, they said I did not implement the theoretical background in the methodology as they wished.drgene365 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 10:05 amHi everyone,

I revised the project with the help of a consulting company and I am now adapting the B1 to the new changes.
I hope I will get invited to the interview again and that this time I can get an A. Even the reserve list would be ok at this point.

Yep, they talk a lot about high risk, but they fund normal scienceChemistry-89 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:59 amThanks. Yeah, then if it is not high risk they say incremental science…it is hard to find the balance.CGN wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:00 pmYep, they talk a lot about high risk, but they fund normal scienceChemistry-89 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:59 amThanks.
