Hi there,
I've done my interview in PE 2+ weeks ago. Getting a bit anxious waiting for the results. I really cannot tell how the interview went. Mixed feelings.

Looking at the stg 2023 timeline I saw that:
1) Public notification was scheduled for the End-August
2) The "informed" date in the portal was July 26
3) The actual notifications were sent on July 19.

Applying the same timeframe to CoG 2023:
1) December
2) November 3
3) October 27-ish ?

Fingers crossed.

Same mixed feelings too. Online so was very hard to see the panel/room fully and couldn't judge their reactions.
For sure the decisions have been made two weeks ago; the Commission have been very efficient in recent years so maybe the 27th!

The success ate at the interview stage is 40%, you have a high chance! Keep the spirit up :) It is a great accomplishment to make it to the interview anyway.

How long did it take to prepare the proposal?

I would say I spent three months on and off. I had the concept in my head in October and submitted Feb 2nd. I wasn't starting from scratch though; the B1 CV part I had a good draft to work with from previous grants. I spent a lot of December and January working solid on it. I would have spent more time on it, but had other grants to submit and my teaching/admin responsibilities with my current role.

I worked on a starting grant years ago... it didn't get past phase 1; it was a good proposal overall, but I had a weak CV for an ERC back then. I rewrote it for another competitive grant the year after. I got it and worked on it for two more years. Then, I worked on other grants and topics for three years; last October, I started working again on my original starting grant proposal and submitted it in February. Now, I passed phase 1, and from May to October, I worked 50% of my time on the interview + writing other grant proposals (of course :|). It's a long run...

There is no news after the system maintenance. I guess today is the day... let's get over with this.
Anyhow, I love the vibes from this old-fashioned forum, full of spam, small emoticons, etc. At least I found this place looking for ERC-CoG news :)
