Re: 2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)
absolutely... I think I heard the portal say "Dude, this isn't happening... What about March 14th do you not understand? Get a life!"

One question: In case you are awarded a fellowship, how much time do you have before you accept it, in case you are waiting for some other thing?michelef wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 7:43 pmScreenshot 2022-03-13 194128.pngMSCA-2021 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 7:39 pmThanksmichelef wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 7:38 pm
Successful applicants receives more emails because the EC needs more information to start the grant agreement process.
The three emails should be:
- Information about evaluation report
- Additional information to start the grant agreement
- Declaration of honor

I wish I could just go to bed right now and wake up tomorrow morning.
and stop thinking "brace yourself", "self-fulfilling prophecy" an "pensamento positivo" over and over and over in my mind.

That's a good question, and I don't know. Perhaps someone at the host institution or the NCPs might know about that.

In my ancient times it was 12 months of the GA signature.
EDIT: In fact, in the GA you need to indicate the actual start date and justify why you can't start as of the date of GA finalization.

I think what I mean is how much time you have until you have to sign the GA, to decide when you start or if you start at all.anonymous_insider wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:26 pmIn my ancient times it was 12 months of the GA signature.

Yes indeed, I think you can delay the start of the fellowship by 12 months.anonymous_insider wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:26 pmIn my ancient times it was 12 months of the GA signature.

However the question is, I think, how much time do you have to accept and start the grant agreement process itself.
For instance, if you have applied to another grant the results of which will announced in a month, could you delay the grant agreement preparation to know the results of the other grant, and, in case, turn down the msca?

Oh, I see. Sorry, I didn't get it. In order:msca_wait wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:34 pmI think what I mean is how much time you have until you have to sign the GA, to decide when you start or if you start at all.anonymous_insider wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:26 pmIn my ancient times it was 12 months of the GA signature.

- the GA is expected to be finalized within 3 months of funding notification.
- you may renounce the fellowship at any time, before, during and after the GA, and even after the fellowship has started. That's what happened with me: GA signed and I renounced after (I think) 2 months after, but before starting.
- When preparing the GA, you need to indicate a start date (mandatory). If the start date is not immediate (vs the expected GA completion), you need to motivate your choice (no big deal). This date cannot be any later than 12 months of the GA signature.
I hope I've nailed your question now.
