Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)
This is like an MSCA pattern. I submitted first time, made the reserve list with comments that seemed reasonable, then submitted an improved proposal, only to get it scored lower and I got flat out rejected the second time. I guess we have selection bias in this forum though as those who get the funding when they reapply are then not back here the next year!dikembemutombo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 8:39 amThanks. No problems with eligibility. In the first attempt, I passed the threshold but couldn't reach the cutoff. In the second attempt, I thoroughly revised the proposal according to the comments. My supervisor (one of the top in his subject) also worked hard on it and I got also professional help. The result was shocking 30 points lower than the previous one with "generic" comments. Anyway, I failed to impress the reviewers and I didn't think to apply again. However, when the call opened, I thought that I have a prepared proposal and I can just submit it and wait for the january when the forum discussions begin. It turns out to be a habit for MSCA applicants. Prepare, apply, fail, angry, calm down, prepare, apply... Then, I thought I can make some small revisions and I started to revise again. Revisions took two months and this makes my january and forum more exciting.ECM wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 10:33 pmI am so sorry about your last 2 msca experiences and hope you could get it this time.dikembemutombo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 1:34 pmLast year and the year before, I was in Submission until the results released and I failed. As far as I remember, Submission people were all failed. Evaluation may be a good sign for you.
if it is not too personal, could you kindly tell me if you couldn’t meet eligibility crieteria or reach to the cutoff?
Thanks!

It is the same as the one shown before - I think that the EC is a professional enough organization that nothing will change in appearance to provide a secret signal that a grant is coming. It is just the disable styles or out-of-date link route that gets a tiny glimpse to . . . something not overly helpful. And maybe they are onto us and skipped it this year anyway!Chem_2020 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:51 amCould you please show here your picture?PetetheCat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:04 amI have been rejected twice before and had this all the way through. It has still just never had anything in it.

Isn't this true for all of us. Why am I here for a third time? This is insanity!Amar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:37 pmOh, my friend... Yesterday I asked my NCP the question in regards to this webinar.
Specifically, I asked if I can expect the results before the webinar (on Feb.04).
This is the answer I received from the NCP a few minutes ago:
The webinar is envisaged for that date and will be recorded and available afterwards.
We do not have additional information about the results . We just know that they should be out within at the latest the 9th of February.
