I’ve clear methodology in mine to address gender specific differences, and I have a whole paragraph of the very limited space we had for the state of the art given over to the differences in muscle biology of males and females and they still said I didn’t address gender differences. Maybe they are looking for it in a specific part of the proposal and don’t pay heed to it elsewhere? Either way, sorry you didn’t get it PetetheCat. You’re right, it is a lottery.

I have a lot to say, but let me just say this about the review comments (in which it was clear that at least one reviewer had taken against my proposal, causing a significant drop in the score when all the elements they criticised were better than last year):

• They said that I did not address gender elements
  I did address gender elements, in multiple places
  Also, I am actually a gender scholar and this is explicitly stated in my proposal
  The word gender appears six times in my proposal
  My proposal has an aim of helping some areas be better with regard to gender relations

I agree with anyone who thinks that this is a lottery. I cannot find any other way to describe it. But I am less sad now I have read the comments because they are so egregious.

I referred to it in four different places in the excellence section where it is meant to be evaluated. Last year I said less about gender; it was there but much more implicit. And I got a positive comment on this front. I got worried I should be more explicit and I get this . . .

People are just lying about score. The system send emails almost altogether, and score are not displayed in the portal. Those who are claiming are urged to share a screenshot here
