Hey Y'all!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I was also following this thread for the past two weeks now. Can't say it was very helpful as the peer panic/anger/frustration was contagious and if I had just not cared time would have passed way faster. ;)
Then again, I really enjoyed seeing so many people being in the same situation as me. Thanks for all the fun posts! :D

It seems like the forum is turning into a therapy group for people in academia! There are too many vulnerable people (including me) pinning all their hopes on winning this f***ing fellowship! :(

I experienced heath problems in 2016-2017 and went for more than a year unemployed, as I needed a rest. This is the reason my MC application is in the Career Restart panel. After I did this application, and trying to a get job back in academia and finding it difficult, I got a fixed-term lectureship position here in the UK, where I live since 2010 when I came for postdocking... I started last month, and it is mainly teaching. I am enjoying more than I expected. This MC grant would mean I go back to my country and to do a project that is amazing 8-)
Hope you fully recovered, and best of luck!

That's why we need to keep this forum alive and make it bigger. There are a lot of mental health issues among academics and talking about it, seems to help people!

Plus all my imaginary friends told me to that together we can conquer Europe. Also sexy Marie Curie agrees.

Haha,
This forum thread now looks like people isolated in an island who only have a portion of food for a couple of days, no hope for an approaching boat, and there is a volcano eruption underway

Guys,
How many of you have a position, even a temporary or part-time one, in academia, and is MSCA IF your only chance to continue your research?
I have a permanent job, which is mostly teaching. It leaves almost no time for research. So, I’m in a loop of lots of teaching > little time for research > less chances for a research fellowship. This maca-if may be my last chance to hold onto research. I’m in social sciences.
Thank you,
At least you have some position in academia.
Good luck with your application!
Thank you, and good luck to you too!

I agree! A good sense of humor like yours is also therapeutic :D Let’s hope the long wait will soon end, and we can all celebrate for those that get it and commiserate together with those who don’t ;)
