The first three digits of the ID have no relevance if people are being told outside of the official emails, surely? The only reason to want these digits is to be waiting to see when emails will be sent through the system, working on the presumption they send them out in order. But if a host institution has a score to give out, the ID number is irrelevant.Raman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:07 pmsorry to hear about that. my rejection is on the way!
so, may I ask if you were in ranking? Could you share your first 3 digits of the id
Thanks

Does someone from SOC have any results?
Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
This frightens me. Last year I got 90+ and was put on the reserve list. This year I submitted a much stronger application, and I will be very upset if I get a lower score.Geezer_MSCA wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:59 pmAs for some of the other posters, this is my 3rd attempt.
The first time I got 90.2 (just 2 points below funding), after working on the application for less than 3 weeks. Last year, I worked on it for 2 months and was in my opinion a much better proposal. Still I got a lower score (84.0). This 3rd time is my best proposal so far (that's what I think, anyway), but I am not placing much faith in it.
What I mean to convey is that the reviewers' evaluations make no sense (to me at least) and that the whole process is a lottery. This is also the opinion of other applicants I spoke to. One just has to hope to be lucky this time around. Some of you will be (statistically)

Agree with it, absolutely

Didn't mean to frighten anyone (sorry about that). My point was to try and be philosophical (or rather stoic) about it. The best way to have a fairer evaluation is for the same reviewers to work on the applications. Which of course is impossible, given the thousands of applications. Nevertheless, in my opinion, this results in an erratic meter of evaluation.pearly* wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:10 pmThis frightens me. Last year I got 90+ and was put on the reserve list. I agree with you, the whole thing is a lottery, and there's no point in taking this personal. Though I'm sure that's what I'll do if I get another rejectionGeezer_MSCA wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:17 pmDidn't mean to frighten anyone (sorry about that). Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
I guess that means that our host institutions already know the results??
MSCA2018ABC wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:48 pmShocked
I just got my result by phone from the host institution in UK.
IF ENG, scored 92.6; however sadly it was still not funded. Although its my first attempt, I was quite disappointed. I have very strong CV (20 IEEE journals in Telecom, with 2 JSAC), top supervisor at host, and very potential proposal. I spent about 7 months for this with very much of hopes.
At the very beginning I was very confident to get the fellowship, but not. Academic life is so uncertainty.
Good luck to everyone

A total lottery or, instead, the better your proposal the more tickets for the lottery?
