You just proved my point. Look at ST_LIF for example.
13.52%

incredibly, lower than even the success rate

As I said before, people in <70% are also a rarity. Few proposals reach <70%

I disagree with this. Take a look on the percentage of proposals below threshold for 2017:
https://ec.europa.eu/research/participa ... 017_en.pdf

Indeed, but it is not a "few proposals". Bellow 70% for that panel are cca. 220 proposals.

What we know is:

last year, SOME people got evaluation-> ranking late and won the fellowship.
last year, SOME people got evaluation-> ranking early and won the fellowship.
last year, ALL people that remained in evaluation did not pass the threshold.

for people that got ranking now, well done, wait for the result
for people that did not get ranking now and are still in evaluation,wait if your status changes and still wait for the result

I think that the point someone of you is highlighting is that from that file it seems that those who are below 70 are grouped together without distinguishing them according to the score (so no ranking). Those who are above 70 are ranked (and you can approximately calculate where you are in the ranking).

I went through the pages of the 2017 thread and stopped on this page as I've already spent a lot of time on it:
http://talkacademia.com/viewtopic.php?f ... start=1350

Ranked on Jan 12:
========================

SOC-2018 = Ranked early = Rejected
ST-LIFE - Ranked Jan 12 = Rejected
ATBGF2017 = Ranked Jan 12 = Rejected
als = Ranked Jan 12 = Rejected (88.4)
RANKING = Ranked Jan 12 = Rejected (80%)
rsr = Ranked Jan 12 = Rejected
Academics_Anonymous = Jan 12 = Rejected
jezza = Jan 12 = Rejected

BB8 - Ranked Jan 12 - Reserve list
Satrius = On Jan 12 "Still in evaluation" = Accepted (maybe didn't check late enough on Jan 12 for the change)?

Ranked on Jan 24:
=========================

RedTailedHawk = Ranked Jan 20+ = Accepted
ML-ENV = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted (94%)
MSCAIF ENG 2017 = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted
ouriell = "went into ranking lately" = Accepted
erkaner = only checked ranking on Jan 28 and was ranked = Accepted
CHEM_ST = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted
aberfeldy = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted
Chem-IF = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted (Chem 95.2)
Phy-2017 = Reported Evaluation on Jan 21 = Accepted
sci'stache = Ranked jan 24 = Accepted
fun4sci = "Ranking since last week" = Accepted
Rapaz = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted
2mc2018 = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted
SOCEF-msca = Ranked Jan 24 = Accepted

Remained "Submission" Phase on ranking day
=============================

MarieCuR = CHEM = Accepted

Still in evaluation until results released
=====================

Amar = Still in evaluation on Jan 29 = Rejected
all_Al = Rejected

From this, it seems to me that:
- Those ranked early do not get the grant
- Those ranked later get the grant
- Those who never get ranked don't get the grant

Applying with host institute in France.

But early this month I got an offer to do Postdoc in UK, so for now I have a “safety net”

It is hard to get some conclusion based on us (20-30 forum users). We need bigger sample from 9000 applicants.

Yes, it is exactly what I implied from the percentile file

I got ranked early, earliest on this forum I think (or at least I noticed it first), so I shall blow your theory out of the water cos I am extremely confident that I got the grant :D
