yeah, but there is one important piece of information: unlike what was said this morning, it seems that ranking does mean you get >70%MSCA_SOC_2019 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:28 pmIt is what we are saying since this morning...
We will not have any clues before they release the results.

2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)

It does depend on the panel. Someone last year posted the following for the 2019 results:Cr@zyChem wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:21 pmFrom last year:
On Feb 01st, the system was down, and people suspected some evaluation was going on
On Feb 03rd, people started posting about status changes. People were noticing quick changes from evaluation to ranking. Others are still in submission or evaluation. From that, some people that had applied before said that ranking does not mean that you get the grant, it just means you passed the 70% threshold.
On Feb 06th, users Dreamer and DreamGirl started to get people's results from their NPC.
They say evaluation meant < 70%. But there were projects being granted at 88%, while others were listed at 92%, it all depends on the panel.
Some people start receiving their official results (emails) by Feb 08th (one day prior to the expected date).

Re: 2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)
Ok but the majority of the applicants got more than 70% (at least more than 3/4 of them) as we need more than 90% to obtain the grant it is not a so important piece of information I thinkCr@zyChem wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:31 pmyeah, but there is one important piece of information: unlike what was said this morning, it seems that ranking does mean you get >70%MSCA_SOC_2019 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:28 pmIt is what we are saying since this morning...

Re: 2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)
I posted this info few weeks ago. I think that they received around 30% less applications this year
But there is also a big cut in the budget, it is more than 30% cut
Re: 2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)
But I think someone already complied and posted here (dunno when!) the info regarding the funding available, and it's much less than previous years as well!
Re: 2021 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HE-MSCA-PF-2021)
it was Jan 31 this year from another postMSCA_SOC_2019 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:26 pmThis year it happened a "long" time ago if I remember wellCr@zyChem wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 4:24 pmSomeone posted this last year:
Also, I remembered that there is one crucial stage that will definitely happen at least a week or more before the results. They will send out rejections to the people who were on the reserve list from the previous year to close it out. So we need some forum members who were on the reserve list from last year to tell us when they get these letters. And we also need to remind them not to panic when they get them because it is a procedural step that their reserve-list proposals have to be formally rejected before the decisions for the next year come out.

Here you have the dataMSCA_SOC_2019 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 8:39 pmI do not think that the time limit will considerably change the figures... Most of the proposals funded are from people within the first years of their post-doctoral experience if I remember well.sparklingabc wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 5:20 pmIs there less overall funding for the call this time around which would result in a lower number of proposals being funded?
If not, wouldn't the chance of getting funded be higher as there are less applications due to the time limit of being within 8 years after getting the PhD? Just trying to be hopeful.
Year / Total Number of proposals / Budget
2021 / 8,356 / 209 330 000 €
2020 / 11,573 / 328 000 000 €
Evolution / -28% / -36%
I am sure we will have less lucky MSCA fellows.
Maybe next year with the threshold it will change a bit?
