Re: Weird reviews
Look on Twitter for Universities that are offering workshops on MSCA. These universities understand the value to be gained by getting MSCA fellows and they will help you. Flying you over for a few days does not cost that much so they see it as a good investment. Don't apply if your host is not suppo...

Re: Weird reviews
Also: with a score of <80%, it might make sense to choose a new host that will help in the application. In no way, I would have been able to create a good application without my host's help.

Re: Weird reviews
I had a quick look at those proposals and while it may seem a significant fall in points, I think that it is not unjustified. It seems that weaknesses from the 2017 proposal were not addressed enough in the 2018 proposal and hence the reviewers must have concluded that if the applicant cannot addres...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
€450/day??? I should become a reviewer rather than going for the grant itself

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
We have to take into account the differences in evaluation by different reviewers from different countries. I remember from my time studying in Belgium that grading was much more negativist: deducting points, rather than looking for the positives. People who came from abroad were surprised that even...

Can I join that forum as well? I accept the decision but I want to help in transforming future MSCA reviews.

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
In my case, most of the weaknesses relate to the host rather than the research. Obviously I can improve my own input but it seems like reviewers did not see how the host would benefit me. So I am a bit thinking about whether I should go for a resubmission or look for a different host. I concur with ...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)
That is just like me: the strengths and weaknesses cancel each other out. Well, on the look now for a different postdoc I did receive my score, 75, first time application in Soc. The comments are a bit contradicting between the strength (mostly very good and excellent) and the weaknesses: Excellence...
