Hi everybody.
I found the last webinar from the European Commission regarding the lifecycle of funded projects profoundly clarifying. If you missed it, here is the link: https://webcast.ec.europa.eu/making-the ... fellowship
I hope you guys find it useful.

Re: MSCA-IF Salary in Italy
Hello again. I just found an important and complete document regarding taxes in Italy in the most obvious place: Euraxess website. Check this: https://cdn4.euraxess.org/sites/default/files/domains/it/taxation_of_income_of_researchers_italy.pdf As I understood it, someone, as myself, eligible for fam...

Re: Deadline foreseen for the signature of the grant agreement
Hello Pulcino. Did you have to sign the GA too? I thought it was signed only by REA and the host, not the fellow. I thought you only signed with your host institution a few weeks before you start. Honestly, these steps are not completely clear to me. I found it all a bit confusing. I am not complain...

Re: MSCA-IF Salary in Italy
It also depends on if you are in an institution or university. IIT does not use assegni contract. Aha! That's a piece of important information. I will work for IIT, indeed. One thing I do know is that we will sign a type A contract. Do you what is it about? Type A? Are you sure? Because Type A is a...

I am sure they would be glad to help. Thanks a lot for inviting me. I tried to join the Brazilian chapter, but they asked me for proof o...

Re: MSCA-IF Salary in Italy
Cresus the king of Lidya, yes. He had a pretty good life and was kind of rich. So the expression 'être riche comme Cresus'. Well, I did not know about your family. You might not live like Cresus to begin with - if your wife is not working - but like a half or quarter Cresus. Not too bad either. Tha...

Re: MSCA-IF Salary in Italy
With 3500 euros in Italy you live like Cresus. Cresus, the king? Of course, you are using an idiomatic expression, but it is a strong one, isn't it? Is it that good? Even considering northern Italy? I am bringing my whole family, including two kids and probably the dog, so I am a bit worried we wil...

Re: MSCA-IF Salary in Italy
For a single person 3500 euros is plenty, it is basically a full professor salary. Note that it is 3500 if you can be hired with a no tax contract usually reserved for postdocs (assegno di ricerca). In this case you only have pension deductions of about 34%. Otherwise, if you are hired as a researc...
